COVID 19 Vaccination Programme in Henfield – A Message from Henfield Parish Council

Henfield Medical Centre is still awaiting news of the delivery of vaccine to Henfield and we are therefore asking everyone to please be patient.

Please avoid phoning the Medical Centre about COVID 19 vaccinations as they are working hard to get on top of all of their other patient priorities at this time.

When we have further news, Henfield Parish Council and Henfield Medical Centre will communicate further.

We do know that the first priority is to vaccinate those residents who are over 80 years of age with a priority given to care home residents and staff and to NHS staff members. If you are called for a vaccination at one of the vaccination centres it is very important that you do all that you can to attend so that none of the vaccine is wasted.

Our Medical Centre will be leading the vaccination programme locally and Henfield Parish Council is working together with the Friends of the Medical Centre to put together a plan and resources to manage what will be a major logistical challenge that we would anticipate getting under way early in the New Year.

We are going to need help to deliver all of this and we will be looking to create a band of volunteers to help:

• managing socially distanced queuing

• administration by arranging and rearranging appointments

• manning phones

• helping to drive individuals who aren't mobile to and from the Medical Centre.

We had some amazing support for residents self-isolating during the first lockdown and volunteers are key to help us with the next phase of the fight against COVID 19.

Please do not contact us until we reach out to you with further news, as we will not need to implement these roles until we know when the vaccine is going to arrive.

We are very conscious that not all of our residents use social media and so if you are able to spread this message to friends, family and neighbours it would be greatly appreciated.

We hope that you are all able to enjoy the Christmas and New Year festivities in the best way that you can whilst keeping safe.

With kind regards and best wishes for the festive season – Henfield Parish Council
