We are fortunate that most people adhere to the planning system and apply for any required planning permission for any building or activity. However there are a growing number that do not and take a chance that they will not  be reported and that after the appropriate number of years have passed without objection, they will be able to claim that the development is lawful.

It is important that any development that is started without the required planning permission should be reported in order that action can be taken by Horsham District Council through the compliance procedure.
It is recognised that some will be reluctant to report such matters, but any such information will always be treated in the strictness confidence and the identity of the person reporting such activity will not be disclosed.
